Sensitizer Blue™ is a water soluble singlet oxygen sensitizer, excitation 300-350 nm, fluorescence emission centered in the blue at ≈ 400 nm. The phosphorescence centered at 510 nm, is readily excited at 280-320 nm in appropriate solvents / conditions.

Description

Sensitizer Blue™ is a water soluble fluorescent and phosphorescent probe with an absorbance from 260-350 nm, with λmax ≈ 320 nm.  The blue fluorescence band of Sensitizer Blue™ from 380-460 nm, can readily be excited in the range 300-350 nm. The Phosphorescence spectra is centered around 510 nm which can readily excited from 280-320 nm.  The phosphorescence lifetime increases when the excitation wavelength is reduced from 320 to 280 nm, 2.81 and 3.07 ms respectively in air-equilibrated glycerol at 0 C.

Sensitizer Blue™ is sold dry and is simply reconstituted by adding 50 µL of either water/MeOH/EtOH and/or buffer.  One vial of our sensitizer will typically allow for 10 measurements to be undertaken, when 5 µL from the 50 µL is further diluted into 3 cm3 volumes within a cuvette.

For optimum performance, probe vials should be stored at -2 to -8 C when not being used.  Probe solutions should be used after dilution.
