Description

Methuselah Green Carboxy™ has similar fluorescence and phosphorescence properties as Methuselah Green 2™, where both the fluorescence and phosphorescence bands of Methuselah Green 2™ can be excited at 290-350 nm, with the Phosphorescence emission centered around 530 nm.  The fluorescence band is centered at around 410 nm. When excited at 280 nm, the lifetime of the probe is 1.67 ms as compared to 350 nm excitation, ≈ 1.069 ms.

Methuselah Green Carboxy™ is sold dry and is simply reconstituted by adding 50 µL of either water/MeOH/EtOH and/or buffer. One vial of our sensitizer will typically allow for 10 measurements to be undertaken, when 5 µL from the 50 µL is further diluted into 3 cm3 volumes within a cuvette, the OD at 320 nm typically > 0.1.

For optimum performance, probe vials should be stored at -2 to -8 °C when not being used.  Probe solutions should be used after dilution.
